Colts Officially Activate Andrew Luck off of PUP

Andrew Luck’s fantasy status still hush hushMore

Andrew Luck is officially back on the Indianapolis Colts' active roster.

Brissett, depending on how quickly he picks up offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski's offense, should push Tolzien and Stephen Morris for snaps until Luck returns.

The Andrew Luck injury saga has provided an unhealthy amount of misery for Colts fans as they've been waiting on pins and needles all offseason long.

Otherwise, the Colts quarterback would have been out for at least the first 6 weeks of the regular season, whereas now Luck can practice with his teammates immediately and potentially start much sooner.

The franchise quarterback can now practice at anytime, although any updates on a timetable for Luck throughout his rehab have been virtually non-existent from the Colts. The Colts traded for Jacoby Brissett on Saturday, adding another option alongside Scott Tolzien to help at quarterback in Luck's absence. The Colts' starting quarterback has been on the sidelines recovering since he underwent surgery earlier this year to fix an issue with his right shoulder that had been bothering him since the 2015 season. The 2016 third-round pick saw action in three games, completing 34 of 55 passes for 400 yards in those games, and finishing 1-1 in his two starts for New England a year ago during Brady's suspension after backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo got hurt. When the Colts kicked off training camp back in July, the team placed Luck on the physically unable to perform list.

That changed just eight days before the start of the regular season. His rookie contract is up after this season, but all signs to the Patriots believing in him as the successor to Brady.
