Aaron Donald ends holdout, still out Week 1 for Rams

LA Rams Run Over Colts in Season Opener

Though the team and Donald's representation have not yet come to terms on a contract extension, both sides will continue to work to reach a solution. In the process, he has incurred $1.4 million in fines, but Pro Football Talk reports that the Rams have chose to waive all fines and that Donald will not lose signing bonus money. It seems all is forgiven though, because the Rams have waived all fines levied against Donald, and he will be paid for Week 1, despite not playing.

Donald will not play in Sunday's test against the Indianapolis Colts, but has been working out on the east coast and "could be up to speed soon", NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Coach Sean McVay ruled him out for the opener Friday.

The Indianapolis Colts haven't won a game in the first two weeks of the National Football League season since 2013.

Fantasy Impact Donald is the best player on the Rams and this is huge news for their defense, which has suffered a lot of injuries this preseason.

Donald, who has recorded 28 sacks in his first three seasons, is one of the best interior defensive linemen in football.

By reporting Saturday, Donald avoids losing regular season game checks. Donald's teammates said he was staying active and training back home in Pittsburgh, but they expect him to need a few weeks to get into game shape. Currently, he's scheduled to make just $1.802 million, a bargain for the Rams but a pittance for a player of Donald's caliber.
