MISERABLE Stormy weather is set to batter the UK over the next few days

The Met Office has issued a weather warning, which is now not in effect in Dorset.

The warning was in place for most of northern England and Wales.

The warning is in effect from 14:00 to 23:59 today, Tuesday, September 12.

The heaviest areas to be hit will be Belfast and parts of Co Armagh, the Met Office said.

Gusts of between 55mph and 60mph on Monday morning could see disruption to rush hour traffic, particularly over the Severn Bridge, with difficulties for high-sided vehicles and possible speed restrictions.

"Our weather will remain cool and while still unsettled, there will be a fair amount of dry weather as rainfall will be in the form of showers".
