Vegas shooter wired $100K to girlfriend before rampage

Paddock the father of Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock

A little more than a day after the deadly mass massacre in Las Vegas, details are emerging about Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of shooter Stephen Paddock.

Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop tweeted: "I understand U.S. authorities have ruled out Australian Marilou Danley as a person of interest".

Danley's Facebook page which listed political pages like "Thank You Obama" and others against Trump's policies fueled accounts that the shooting was the work of a "far left loon".

Danley, 62, was out of the country at the time of the shooting.

"We believe her not to be involved", the Las Vegas sheriff relayed to Consul General Adelio Angelito Cruz of the Philippine consulate in Los Angeles. Police will question her in a search for a possible motive for Paddock's rampage.

"She had nothing to do with this psycho, "the person said".

Danley was initially thought to be traveling with Paddock in Las Vegas.

Authorities said Paddock, a 64-year-old gambler and real estate investor, had been in the high-floor two room suite in the Mandalay Bay since Thursday.

Investigators reached Marilou Danley early Monday but do not believe she was involved in the shooting at this time. "But obviously, that investigation will continue", Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said.

U.S. reports say that on top of his divorce proceedings, Stephen Paddock had a gambling problem.

The Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, a hotel and casino in Reno, said Ms Danley was a former employee.

"She was reported to have been in the Philippines at the time of the incident but there are unconfirmed reports that she is no longer in the Philippines at this time".

"We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the more than 50 victims who died because of the mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada", he said.

"We mourn with the families of those who perished and hope for the speedy recovery of the more than 400 people who were reported injured", Cayetano said in a statement.

The gunman was purportedly well known in Las Vegas and was even comped free rooms and given access to special casino facilities thanks to the large sums of money he spent on the Strip.
