'Furious' Asamoah Gyan demands protest over Black Stars goal snub

Uganda takes on Ghana Tomorrow

The game which officially ended Ghana's chance of qualifying for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russian Federation has been marred with controversies over officiating.

Following Asamoah Gyan calling for a protest from the Black Stars, the Ghanian FA have filed a complaint to Federation Internationale de Football Association about the performance of South African referee Daniel Bennett.

The linesman's flag denied the Black Stars a late victor in the 93rd minute after Raphael Dwamena hit the back of the Ugandan net from a rebound off the goalkeeper.

In a controversial contest, Ghana had a goal disallowed at the death with the linesman wrongly flagging Raphael Dwamena offside, despite replays showing the Black Stars forward was comfortably onside.

The goalless stalemate at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala has visibly kicked Ghana out of the running for Russian Federation 2018.

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has bestowed the armband on the Foxes star after injuries to regular skipper Asamoah Gyan and Christian Atsu, who had originally been lined up to deputise.

"Referee Daniel Bennett just told the Ghana team why he disallowed the goal".

Following that match, Egypt now need a home win over last-place Congo in Alexandria to book a World Cup berth, going up against Ghana in the final match of Group E.

Yesterday's crucial game between Ghana and Uganda in the World Cup Qualifiers was full of big events.

Cranes have to pray that Egypt draws or is beaten by Congo Brazzaville to keep their dreams alive.

"The GFA filed the protest to football's world governing body, FIFA, immediately after the match at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala".
