Apple unveils gender-neutral emoji coming to iPhone

Apple are releasing their new iPhone X on the 3rd of November and we could see the update being released then. Your iPhone really doesn't slow down every time a new update or a variant is launched. So Futuremark, a benchmarking company preformed a test on this matter and the result posted on the company's website notes.

"At WWDC 2017, Apple announced that they have extended the functionality of the ReplayKit framework", explains Demid Borodin, co-founder and Director of Video Technology. There has been a small fall in CPU performance, but not enough to be noticeable, according to Futuremark.

For the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 7, the firm found similar results for GPU performance, with consistency reported across the same timeframe and set of iOS updates.

"Our benchmarking data shows that, rather than intentionally degrading the performance of older models, Apple actually does a good job of supporting its older devices with regular updates that maintain a consistent level of performance across iOS versions", says Futuremark in its press release. The new update is the best iOS update till date which brings a bunch of new features to the iOS devices.

Despite the data presented, the release said, there are other factors that could influence a user's perception of his or her iPhone's performance. The concept of purposely outdating the older devices is nothing new and has been around long before the smartphones were made. Of course, newer models will be faster and more efficient than older ones, but in reality, your old iPhone is no slower than it was before the new one was released. The new emoji are indeed nice, but it's the presence of 3D Touch multitasking gestures that steals the show for power users. One plausible explanation is simply that seeing the latest and greatest device demoed leads some people to feel like their phone is slower, even if nothing has changed.

Company claims that it has been done over 100,000 benchmarking tests on iPhones from 5s to iPhone7. It's possible that the new iOS uses more resources to run the same apps, thus slowing the performance of the apps.
