Packers place QB Aaron Rodgers on injured reserve

Packers promote QB Joe Callahan from practice squad

After suffering a broken collarbone during the game against the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers has undergone surgery to fix it Thursday, October 19th - according to a new report.

After breaking his collarbone last week, Rodgers has been ruled out for the next eight weeks as he sits on injured reserve. Rodgers and Packers coach Mike McCarthy have said that the surgery went well.

Microsoft and the Green Bay Packers are teaming up for a unique partnership created to spur innovation and economic growth across Wisconsin's Fox River Valley.

If he is placed on the injured list, he would be out for a minimum of two months.

Brett Hundley will start under center for the Packers on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, and - barring injury or ineffective play - several more games after Week 7. Under a new National Football League rule, teams can bring back two players from IR.

The Packers are now in first place in the NFC North division with a 4-2 record. After an incredible come-from-behind performance against the Dallas Cowboys, Rodgers appeared to be hitting his stride while making a strong case for another NFL MVP award. Rodgers had thrown for 1,385 yards and 13 touchdowns with three interceptions this season before his injury.
