Taylor Swift Disses Kanye West And Jay Z In New Song

Taylor Swift

Swift values friendships (squad anyone?) so she when she sings "but I'm not the only friend you've lost lately/if only you weren't so shady", she could be hitting West with this personal critique.

Taylor fisrst references how she reclaims narratives with Kanye she would rather be excluded from in 'End Game", saying, "And I bury hatchets, but I keep maps of where I put "em". We're sure that more record-breaking stats are ahead.

The internet is also abuzz with theories that Taylor speaks up regarding her previous feud with Katy Perry, especially on "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things".

Swift is a master at chronicling her soured relationships, with many of her finest songs memorializing (and sometimes flaming) her exes.

So does that sad story dominate Reputation on the whole?

Taylor Swift knew these articles were coming. Beginning at midnight ET on November 10, iHeartRadio's Pop and Hot AC stations across the country will play a new track off of reputation at the top of every hour leading up to the hour long on air special at 8pm local time. "The album's second single and opening track, "... However, on Reputation she reclaims the narrative she once wished to be excluded from. Turns out, Look What You Made Me Do was a red herring, and West barely makes an appearance in the album's lyrics, save for one other song in which Swift laughing at the rapper as she dances on his grave. Old Taylor is back, it seems. To provide some context, the year that she's referencing is likely 2014-2015, following the release of her wildly popular 1989 album.

Swift then gives a toast to her real friends: "They don't care about that he said, she said / And here's to my baby / He ain't reading what they call me lately / And here's to my momma / Had to listen to all this drama / And here's to you / 'Cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do / Haha, I can't even say it with a straight face!". It's basically like any Taylor Swift Pandora station, but there's a chance a song from reputation will appear. It begins on "End Game", with Taylor proclaiming, "And I bury hatchets, but I keep maps of where I put 'em".

Swift shared the posts with her 104 million followers and together, they have accumatated an impressive 2.9 million likes.

Before playing "Call It What You Want", she explained, "We're gonna play it a little bit differently than you heard it on the album".

Reputation in many ways does leave many formerly familiar Swiftian traits behind. The album isn't available to stream on demand anywhere and won't be for at least a week. And while electronic musical settings still aren't a natural fit for Swift, she sounds increasingly comfortable on the more mechanistic tracks over the course of the 15 song set. So it's pretty much safe to say that this might have been the peak "nice things" that she refers to in the song.
