HTC U11 All Set To Receive Android 8.0 Oreo Update

Android 8.0 Oreo for unlocked HTC U11 will arrive tomorrow ...

HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone maker, in June took the wraps off its flagship smartphone of the year, U11.

This upgrade means that U11 users will get all the Oreo-centric features that are part of the latest Android version. It is still unknown whether the update rollout started in other regions or not. This comes about a week and a half after HTC began rolling out the Oreo update for U11 owners in Taiwan. Mo Versi, the company's VP of product management, announced the news in a tweet over the weekend. Android Oreo is also set to bring access to a wide range of features including Notification Channels, Notification Dots, Autofill for passwords and Android Instant Apps. Besides, he also said that the Oreo update for HTC 10, U11 Life and Ultra will be rolled out soon.

Users of HTC U11 will also enjoy the generic ability of the Android Oreo OS to limit the background activity that is generated through the least used applications. As soon as we get some details on when it will land, we will let you guys know.

The Android 8.0 Oreo beta is only available in South Korea at the moment, LG is not expected to make it available in more countries as the update is coming some time next month. The only downside with the smartphone is the bezels on the front, but the company recently launched a tweaked version of the U11, dubbed as HTC U11 Plus. To check and see if you've received the update yet, head to Settings About Software updates on your phone.
