'Mindhunter': Netflix Hit Renewed for Season 2

The Pittsburgh-show Netflix series "Mindhunter", about the early days of criminal profiling in the FBI's serial killer unit, has been renewed for a second season.

The series, set in the 1970s, stars Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, and Hannah Gross. In the series, two Federal Bureau of Investigation agents (Jonathan Groff & Holt McCallany) set out on a sinister investigative odyssey to discover the brutal answers.

'It's more freakish than what a writer could concoct from his imagination, ' he insists.

Penhall created the series with David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Charlize Theron and Cean Chaffin acting as exec. producers. The series is directed by David Fincher (Gone Girl, The Social Network, Zodiac), Asif Kapadia (Amy, Senna), Tobias Lindholm (A War, A Hijacking) and Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror, U Want Me 2 Kill Him?). The first season is now streaming on Netflix, following the October premiere.

"We need to talk to more subjects", reads one on Instagram, accompanied by a brief video teaser. Mindhunter features Groff as an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent who tracks down serial killers and rapists. 'Mindhunter' season 2 is coming, ' says the announcement, referencing the show's central premise. "It's meant to support what's happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons". "The five-season bible I read was approximately a 60 to 70 page document that just laid out the broad strokes: a much more detailed rundown of season one, and then an overview of what potential subsequent seasons would look like".
