Nintendo's Super Mario Bros jumps into China for first time

Nintendo Wii And GameCube Games Are Being Remastered For Nvidia Shield--But Only In China

They will be remastered in 1080p resolution and available on the Nvidia Shield in China today.

Wii games on Shield will cost RMB 68. We're not jealous at all. This would be good news on its own, but the kicker that it will also come with popular Nintendo Wii games turns the device into a must-have for gamers all over China.

Since then Bloomberg has confirmed that Nvidia started selling the Shield set top box in China December 5th, with three Nintendo games pre-installed: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, New Super Mario Bros. Nintendo is yet to offer its Virtual Console service, which offered a wide range of downloadable games from the company's extensive back catalogue, on the Switch. Your agony will be over soon as the gaming and media device is arriving in Mainland China.

New Super Mario Bros., Twilight Princess, and PUNCH-OUT! are all available now. He said efforts to bring its new Nintendo Switch hybrid console to China continues independently of its partnership with Nvidia. Wii and Punch-out! will be remastered with 1080p visuals, looking better than they do on original hardware.

The games are only available through the Nvidia Shield console, and will be available "soon". The games in question include Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. SHIELD will bring Chinese customers a brand-new experience in gaming, AI and home entertainment with Baidu's DuerOS conversational AI system and abundant entertainment options from iQIYI. However, this isn't the only partnership Nintendo secured for China. However, it has experimented with mobile games such as Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Historically, Nintendo has rarely licensed its original games and characters to rival consolemakers.
