Trump Blasts 'FAKE NEWS' Story He Was Considering Rescinding Gorsuch Nomination

I never even wavered and am very proud of him and the job he is doing as Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Washington Post released a report last night which indicated that the president almost rescinded his nomination for Neil Gorsuch to become the ninth justice of the Supreme Court.

It is unclear whether Trump's "explosion", as another administration official described it, truly put Gorsuch's nomination in jeopardy or whether the president was expressing his frustration aloud, as he often does.

President Trump had reportedly been unhappy that Gorsuch hadn't been appreciative enough of the nomination, and was anxious after Gorsuch appeared to be critical of some of Trump's statements regarding federal courts.

The report was published in the Washington Post Monday night, and said Trump discussed rescinding Gorsuch's nomination after he was critical of Trump and his verbal attacks on the federal judiciary. But it quickly became apparent that Trump had not been informed or bought into the strategy.

The Washington Post reports that an incredulous Trump told aides he was inclined to revoke the nomination after Gorsuch told Democratic Sen.

Gorsuch's comments, on which he declined to elaborate publicly, were likely part of a bid to prove his autonomy from the White House.

The letter was produced for Trump and he took a look at it on March 10, according to legislative affairs director Marc Short.

Another day, another tweet from President Donald Trump, another shot at the "FAKE NEWS" media. He's new to government, and so he probably wasn't steeped in the long-running protocols that establish the relationships between [the Justice Department], FBI and White House. "You never know with these guys".

Trump was also reportedly concerned that Gorsuch wasn't grateful enough to him for the nomination.
