Police said that location is not manned by the Salvation Army.

Local Salvation Army officials are saying MA is shy of $1 million dollars away from meeting their statewide fundraising goal. Funds collected stay local and help families in need at Christmas and all year round. They are urging everyone who's out stocking up on last minute Christmas supplies to dig a little deeper when they pass a bell ringer braving the now-cold weather to get them over the top. Currently, they are at 65 percent of their goal.

The state as a whole is down 11 percent compared to past year, the Kettles specifically are down 11 percent.

They spotted the coin before delivering the money to the bank. "We hope the community will respond and make a donation in one of our many kettles in the community".

In Ephrata, red kettles can be found at Safeway and Walmart.
