STEELERS ON 11: Steelers clinch first-round bye with win against Texans

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady celebrates scoring during the first quarter of an NFL football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field on Sunday

Standing in their way, though, will be the Houston Texans, who would love to wreak some havoc at home.

It was the first score of the game for the Texans, who were trailing 27-0 at the time.

Pittsburgh clinched a bye in the postseason while extending its road winning streak to six.

The Steelers recorded first downs on their initial four snaps, quickly covering 57 yards before bogging down in the red zone.

While the Texans should have run the ball, what made the play calls even worse was that neither pass was intended for Houston's best receiver - DeAndre Hopkins.

Talking to some of the fans before the game to see how much the Texans (4-10) poor performance this season caused their reason for getting tickets to this game, I found that it seemed for the local audience it played a part, but for numerous Steelers fans in from other states and even other countries, this game has been booked for a while.

However, Heinicke's National Football League debut did not last long. Yates replaced Heinicke on the next series. That meant quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and running back Le'Veon Bell were of course coming out, but some offensive linemen also finished the game on the sidelines.

WR Antonio Brown is not expected to be ready should the Pittsburgh Steelers play in the wild-card round of the playoffs, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday.
