Snapchat Creating 'Stories Everywhere' Feature To Distribute Content Across The Web

S [/dropap]nap Inc did not have a great year. The decision to make Stories available outside of Snapchat arrives as the app's user growth has stalled in the wake of its massive IPO. The goal is to attract more active users and increase user engagement.

Development is still in the "early stages", but Stories Everywhere would allow users to share videos on various platforms through a web player, according to the source, giving Snapchat more exposure.

This new feature is still in the works. All of the snaps are assembled automatically to create the Story. Of course, you can still export your stories later and upload them separately as a video file. Moving on to the Stories Archive, this feature will allow you to save your Stories into Archive once they expire. The success of this feature has been undeniable and it seems that other social media platforms have finally chose to emulate it. This feature will allow the social media site to become an outlet for news and other video verticals. This, of course, is bad news for Snapchat itself, as it has been significantly lagging behind Instagram in terms of user numbers for some time now.

According to a report by Cheddar, however, Snapchat is working on broadening the reach of these Stories. It also aims to be aggressive on the news and widen content distribution. This would surely open a way for Snapchat to make money through licensing. Year-to-date, SNAP has declined -39.38%, versus a 21.92% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period. To get continuous feedback on the performance and design, a wide variety of Android devices have been distributed to the engineering teams. Comparatively, Snapchat had 158 million users as of the fourth quarter of 2016. Unfortunately, it did not come close to Instagram Stories' active users of 300 million per month.
