Terrorists storm CRPF camp in J&K's Pulwama jawan killed

Heavily-armed militants stealthily entered the camp in Lathpora area about two hours after midnight, hurling grenades and resorting to indiscriminate gunfire.

CRPF spokesperson Rajesh Yadav said the bodies of two terrorists have also been recovered while one more is believed to have been killed. He claimed a number of security force personnel were killed or injured.

The militants initially said to be two, barged into the Lethpora centre from the hillside and killed two CRPF men. CRPF Public Relations Officer, Bhavesh Kumar said that the three jawans were martyred due to firing and one of the jawans died due to the heart attack. It is being said that the terrorists went into a building and started firing from there.

Director General of Police S P Vaid said security forces had inputs about an impending militant strike in the Valley for the past three days. They probably could not get a place and time earlier. The exchange of fire was on when reports last came in.
