Late-Night Hosts Are Campaigning for Trump's 'Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards'

The Daily Show Launchs Campaign for Trump's Dishonest Media Awards With Full Page Print Ad

President Trump is delaying his so-called "Fake News Awards" until January 17, he tweeted Sunday.

Taking to Twitter, where he often does his little rants, Trump said that he will announce on this coming Monday his new - in all capital letters - "MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR".

"The interest in, and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have anticipated!" he said.

On 3 January Mr Trump said he would be announcing "THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR" on Monday 8 January at 5.00pm.

Bannon apologized on Sunday for not responding sooner, calling Donald Trump Jr. Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah ran an ad in the New York Times pushing itself to be given an award. Maybe-maybe-there was a chance that we would, for at least a couple minutes, stop paying attention to Donald Trump. This would be one of its kind media award by the United States president. "I don't think so".

One big question facing the media is: Will they go live?

His tweet prompted global bemusement and amusement, but now the President has said he is delaying the honours citing the "interest in and importance of" the awards.

Trump offered a back-handed congratulations to the newly named publisher of the New York Times, A.G. Sulzberger, earlier Tuesday, reigniting his public feud with the newspaper he gave an exclusive interview to the week prior.

Trump upon his return from the presidential retreat of Camp David yesterday tweeted about the new date of the "one- of-its-kind" awards to various media houses.

In November, he tweeted about a competition among news networks for the "Fake News Trophy", excluding Fox News.
