Dinesh Karthik to replace injured Wriddhiman Saha

Wriddhiman Saha was ruled out of India’s 3rd Test against South Africa due to injury and he will be replaced by Dinesh Karthik

His failure to regain fitness ahead of the third and final Test means he has been ruled out of the rest of the series and will be replaced by Karthik who last played a Test for India back in 2010. He didn't had impressive outings for the side in the first Test where he finished with the scores of 0, 8 respectively in the first two games.

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Dinesh Karthik as a replacement for Wriddhiman Saha for the third and final Test against South Africa", the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a statement. Parthiv Patel is doing duty behind the stumps in Centurion. "He is set to join the team before the third Test", the BCCI said in a media release. On the third day, he didn't go for the catch which was pretty much in his reach.

Karthik has played 23 Tests and scored 1000 runs at an average of 27.77 including one century and seven half-centuries.

Meanwhile, Twitterati has made fun of Dinesh Karthik who is going to join Murali Karthik on the field soon. He failed with bat in the first innings as well (though, to be fair, the top order generally did not come off). Share your views with us in the comments section below.
