No motive uncovered in Las Vegas mass shooting

Stephen Paddock's room at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas where he carried out a massacre in October

"According to the report, Paddock's physician described him as "'odd" in behavior with "little emotion' shown".

The room she shared with Stephen Paddock overlooked the grounds that would eventually transform into the Route 91 Harvest festival, and Danley said her boyfriend took an unusual and persistent interest in their vantage point.

In California, he also searched for the locations of the Venice Ale House, the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and the Bungalow. He'd also searched for "biggest open air concert venue in USA" and "summer concerts 2017", while visiting pages about the "most crowded beaches in America".

Following the press conference, Sheriff Lombardo release a preliminary report that he referred to as "Cliffs Notes" for the Metropolitan Police Department's extensive investigation into the senseless massacre.

The sheriff said investigators were working to determine a motive, but believe Paddock's loss of a "significant amount of wealth" played a factor.

Authorities have concluded that Paddock acted alone, and the sheriff said police do not anticipate bringing charges against Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, who received large cash transfers from Paddock just before the shooting and was questioned in the days after.

"Without naming names, there are potential charges against other people, because of the ongoing investigation?", District Court Judge Elissa Cadish asked Metro's Lawyer Nick Crosby. The FBI also found "several hundred images of child porn" after scanning Paddock's computer.

Authorities have combed through almost 2,000 leads and 21,650 hours of video in the inquiry so far, Lombardo said.

The Las Vegas shooting took place on October 1, 2017, when the gunman identified as Stephen Paddock shot at a crowd of people, who were attending a country music festival, from his suite on the 23rd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

He also stockpiled weapons legally and effectively. That incorporates around 200 shots discharged through Paddock's lodging room entryway into a passage where an unarmed inn security watch was injured in the leg and a support design sought shelter to abstain from being hit.

Several bullets hit aviation fuel storage tanks at nearby McCarran International Airport, but the tanks did not explode.

Danley, 62, an Australian citizen, was born in the Philippines and is believed to have lived in Australia for about 10 years before moving to the United States in 1989.

Las Vegas Metro police have not released what kind of guns Paddock used or videos of Paddock inside Mandalay Bay and the investigation thus far has not yielded a motive for the massacre. She immediately cooperated with investigators after returning the USA after the shooting.

Eric Paddock flew to Las Vegas to meet with Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg. Danley, his girlfriend, told investigators that during their visit she "observed Paddock constantly looking out the windows of the room that overlooked the venue".

Danley also described how Paddock's demeanour changed over the course of the previous year as he became "distant" and "germaphobic", the report said.

She said he became a "germaphobic. having strong reactions to smell". She said he had begun to buy firearms over the course of the a year ago and that Danley believed it was a "hobby" of his. The report says all 22,000 people who attended the festival that night are recognized as victims.
