Apple noted that the new chat feature "doesn't share the user's contact information with businesses and gives users the ability to stop chatting at any time". While Apple first promised a after admitting it slowed down iPhones with older batteries, CEO Tim Cook earlier this month a power management feature that would allow users to switch off performance throttling. Currently, a user's health records are scattered across multiple websites and online repositories.

In fact, it may help both companies by allowing their customers to plan and by making sure they know what's going on with the devices they have paid good money for.

Patients from 12 different hospitals in the United States will initially be able to view their medical records on their smartphones. About a dozen hospital systems across the USA have signed on to collaborate during the beta phase, including Penn Medicine in Philadelphia, Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, UC San Diego Health, and MedStar Health in the DC-metro area. It will enable users to transfer clinical data - like cholesterol levels and lists of medications prescribed by their doctors - directly from their medical providers to their iPhones, potentially streamlining how Americans gain access to some health information.

Apple's new tool will specifically be useful for users who regularly track cholesterol and other things such as lab results.

Health Records improves users' health data access and control. A user then needs to connect to Apple's software system for accessing the data from the service.

Starting on February 9, a new feature will be available - HomePod.

Apple's latest update to the Health app could mark an important milestone in the digitization of health records. However, Apple's update could make a contribution in addressing the interoperability issues.

Records viewable on the mobile devices were created based on Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources standards, the Cupertino, Calif. -based company said.

Apple has worked with three vendors of electronic medical records for the first wave of its apps: Epic, Cerner and AthenaHealth.

Apple has also revealed that Apple Music is expanding to music videos and Apple News to news videos. Self-monitoring of health is the new craze among users. Apple has partnered with 12 hospitals on the feature, including Johns Hopkins Medicine and UC San Diego Health, the company said in a statement Wednesday. Google also came up with Google Health, but it failed to take-off and was eventually shutdown in 2011. Users, for example, can buy an item directly from Lowe's using their Apple Pay within their iMessages. Geisinger began recording patients' health information in computers back in 1995, Slotkin said.
