Israel To Retroactively Legalize A Colonialist Outpost

Scene of shooting attack near Havat Gilad

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs said on Sunday that the ongoing search for the cell leader "unveils the racism, extremism and hatred prevailing within Israel's political and military institutions", the official Palestinian Authority news agency Wafa reported.

The Israeli man from Tel Aviv who apparently got lost coming back from riding horses in Wadi Qelt, according to Ynet, was met with Palestinian rioters who hurled stones and burned his vehicle.

Today, between 600,000 and 750,000 Israelis live in illegal settlements.

"They will only make us move forward with confidence", Ismail Haniyeh said.

Following the raid in Jenin, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said Israel's security establishment knows everything about the terrorist cell that carried out the attack and those who aided them.

On Saturday night, IDF soldiers detained a Palestinian who is suspected of collaborating with the attacker.

Mr Trump's reversal of decades of U.S. policy enraged Palestinians, who want to create an independent state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip with East Jerusalem as their capital.

In announcing the cabinet's intention to legalize Havat Gilad, the prime minister addressed Shevach's killers directly.

"The legalization of the outpost would signal that the government does not intend to advance a final peace agreement, but rather only to extend Israel's hold on the West Bank and to prevent the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state alongside an Israel with secure, internationally recognized borders", said the Peace Now group. "Whoever thinks that through the reprehensible murder of a resident of Havat Gilad, a father of six, that he can break our spirit and weaken us, is making a bitter mistake", he said.

His cousin, who has the same name, was killed on January 18 after a ten-hour military operation by the Israeli army, in what Palestinians believe was a case of mistaken identity. "This is the essence of the government's policy", Netanyahu said at the meeting.

Last year, for the first time in 25 years, the government approved the construction of an entirely new settlement in the West Bank.

"A few minutes ago, I spoke with Yael, the widow of Rabbi Raziel Shevach".

Roberto Valent, an official with the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA, said he was "deeply concerned" by the demolition.
