Facebook releases statement about circulating child pornography post

Clarksville Now

A man who turned himself into Millbrook authorities Tuesday morning on charges of sexually abusing a child is also accused of abusing three girls during a period of six years in Alabama and Detroit.

A spokesman for Central Alabama CrimeStoppers said you should report the video to the social media platform and call your local law enforcement office.

The video circulating on Facebook and other social media as far as Colorado and France shows a young girl performing oral sex on an adult.

Moore's fiance is also facing charges for interfering with prosecution, WSFA reports.

The video itself is part of an ongoing investigation in Alabama, not Alaska, APD said.

In Detroit, Moore is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct, using a computer to commit a crime and distribution child sexually abusive material.

Law enforcement officials across the country are asking people to stop sharing a video on Facebook that depicts child pornography.

Moore was wanted on 11 felony charges, not only in Alabama but also in Detroit, Garrett said.

Just last week, the Memphis Police Department and WREG warned you about the video and how you should not share it if it is sent to you.

Montgomery police say they arrested another man, Jerrell Washington, in connection with this case Monday night.

It is alleged he would rape the girls, record it and share the videos online. He is charged with sexual assault of a child, distribution of video depicting the assault and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

"We do not allow the sharing of child exploitative images on Facebook or Messenger - even to express outrage". Later today, Moore will be transported to the Elmore County Detention Facility.

But sharing the video could have legal repercussions for those who do so, since spreading child pornography is illegal no matter the intent.

The video spread as many across the region attempted to get the word out and find the person responsible.
