Several Inches of Snow Possible

Forecasts indicate wet weather is heading to MA this weekend.

Forecasters said latest models suggest that "a long-duration snow event" could start as early as Friday morning and persist into the evening and even into Saturday.

The National Weather Service predicts potential scattered snow showers in areas north of the Massachusetts Turnpike late Friday night. High temperatures will only get into the teens and low 20s, with wind chills stuck in the single digits and low teens. Saturday and Sunday will be mild with some rain showers moving into Central PA. Most of the precipitation will fall as freezing rain through tomorrow morning.

Updated at 4 p.m. Saturday: Revised to include details of winter weather advisory.

Snow ratios in the nation's northern tier are the highest based on 1986-2015 historical data from the National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC).
