Most recently Uma Thurman, 47, came forward as a Weinstein accuser, claiming he'd assaulted her after they worked together on the 1994 film Pulp Fiction.

The lawsuit follows a four-month investigation by Schneiderman's office that included interviews with company employees, executives and Harvey Weinstein's accusers.

The Met Police are now investigating nine different accusations from women against Weinstein.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has filed a lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein, his former Hollywood company and his brother Robert.

The lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court against Weinstein and the company he co-founded presented a major obstacle to the reported $500 million deal to sell the movie studio to former Obama administration official Maria Contreras-Sweet.

"Any sale of the company must ensure victims are adequately compensated, employees are protected, and that enablers of sexual misconduct will not be unjustly enriched", said New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman in a tweet Sunday. The suit references the Weinstein Company's COO, but does not use Glasser's name.

The lawsuit has halted a potential sale of the company. Employee accounts of sexual harassment, intimidation and other misconduct are part of the suit.

According to the suit, despite many complaints to the company's human resources department and widespread knowlege of misconduct allegations, the company failed to take "meaningful" steps to protect its employees.

A Weinstein attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
