8 things to consider about year-round daylight saving time in Florida

10 daylight saving time facts and why farmers aren't to blame

Well, once again, we're about to fall for it: On Saturday night (or maybe Sunday morning), we will go through our households and advance every clock (and every electronic device with a clock) by one hour.

Michael Downing, author of the 2006 book "Spring Forward: The Annual Madness of Daylight Saving Time", said time zone complications are often overlooked when daylight saving time changes are proposed.

The other half, which have displayed the correct time since November, will be wrong. Those who used to commit crimes at sunset might now have another obligation one hour earlier or later, depending on the time of year.

Here's a full Congressional Research Service report on the history of Daylight Saving Time and the surprising number of times the United States government has considered the matter.

What would happen if we ditched DST? Way to go, Saskatchewan, you win the weirdo award in Canada.

Debate, however, continues over the pros and cons of the time change. He says many of those could have been prevented if smoke alarms were present in the home and were properly working. Most of us are drowsiest around 5 a.m.

I'm unable to participate in the conversation, however, because I haven't finished my first pot of coffee.

For those happy about the longer days ahead, despite the lost hour of sleep, enjoy.

If schools started later, to accommodate sunrise timing, that would mean more parents rushing to reach work on time.

All in favor of the latter, raise your hands - and count me as one of you.
