Sarah Jessica Parker breaks silence on Cynthia Nixon's gubernatorial run

Cynthia Nixon calls public housing conditions 'devastating'

Sarah Jessica Parker has finally broken her silence on Sex and the City castmate Cynthia Nixon's run for NY governor, but stopped short of an endorsement.

Parker is the last of Nixon's co-stars from the successful HBO series to comment on her run for governor. "Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls", she toldPage Six in a statement through her spokeswoman. "I know that she would be an excellent Governor!" she wrote on March 19.

Nixon received rousing endorsement from another "SATC" alum Kristin Davis, who tweeted in support of the actor the day she announced her campaign.

Parker cleared it all up on Thursday morning with an Instagram post praising Nixon and officially checking the ballot box for her "sister on and off screen". She then gave a link for followers to learn more about Nixon's campaign.

But Parker has come out and endorsed Nixon. Cattrall, who has been at odds with Parker for years, offered her "support and respect" via Twitter to Nixon following the announcement of her candidacy. "I'm so proud of her and I know she will work tirelessly to create change for all who need representation". Cattrall, though, has been in a feud with Parker recently. Nixon, who has no prior experience running for elected office, is running against a two-term incumbent Governor. Andrew Cuomo. The actress has indicated that her decision to run was spurred by Donald Trump's election as president. She's attacked Cuomo for being a centrist and too much of an insider. "Now she wants an unqualified lesbian to be the governor of New York", Quinn said. "On health care, ending massive incarceration, fixing our broken subway".
