Roseanne revival: Trump's name won't be spoken at all in first season

ABC announced this afternoon it was renewing "Roseanne" for a second season - or 11th season, depending on your math. "The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago". President Trump even called Barr last week to congratulate her on the show's success, and at a rally in OH on Thursday, he cited the show's ratings and said, "It was about us". "Over 18 million people". With the next days' DVR viewing factored in as well, the show jumped to a 6.24 demo rating.

More than 18 million people tuned in for the revived series' debut Tuesday on ABC.

The television network president wasn't the only one impressed with the show's ratings.

"President Trump has freed so many children held in bondage to pimps all over this world", Barr tweeted.

"Look at Roseanne - look at her ratings", Trump told the crowd, which had gathered to hear Trump deliver what was billed as an infrastructure speech.

"It wasn't a far leap from past posts when Barr was focused on spreading right-wing conspiracies like this one just last November engaging a deep state conspiracy", she continued. So it didn't take long after her show's return for her to get back on that horse.

"He talked about jobs, he said he'd shake things up", says Barr in the episode. For the president, it's a rare bright spot among the major TV series, award ceremonies and late-night shows that regularly skewer him.

Barr said she and Trump have a lot in common, because they both starred in TV shows that were once No. 1, so they understand how thrilling it is to connect to a huge audience. Sandra Bernhard, who reprises her role as Nancy Bartlett-a character that famously came out as gay in Season 4 of the original show, which ran from 1988 to 1997-confessed that she "can't understand" why so many white women voted for Trump.

"I have worked with victims of trafficking for decades & supported the fight against it", Barr tweeted.

"I got so lucky because I was still getting hired for things, but the fact is I was drinking at work", Goodman recalls. "How many times have we seen a super strong opening for a Christian movie that the Hollywood promotional industrial complex never talked about?"
