The Second Blue Moon from this March is Associated with the Easter

Theres Going to Be a Blue Moon Tomorrow

If it looks like any other full moon, there's a reason for that: It is.

According to a popular notion, a Blue Moon is defined as the second of two full moons to occur in one calendar month.

"Blue Moon" on March 31 will be the second such event this year: the last time to observe such a phenomenon was January 31.

The fourth full moon of the year is given the name Sap Full Moon because it marks the time of the year when trees are tapped for sap that makes all sorts of syrup. Usually, the Easter is established in the first Sunday after the first full moon that appears in the first month of spring.

Sky watchers should not miss the chance the see the blue moon this Easter weekend.

"The last time February didn't have a full moon was in 1999, and the time before that was 1980", Space.com reported. It will set at 7:34 a.m. on Sunday, the 1st of April, in the Big Apple and at 7:37 a.m.in the casino city.

Now, it's time for the blue moon to shine.

Incidentally, there is an older definition of a Blue Moon that refers to an extra full moon happening in a season. A Super Blue Blood Moon delighted skywatchers on january 31.

Actual blue moons are often seen after volcanic eruptions.

Nevertheless, we might be treated to a delightful appearance of a red or orange moon as the celestial body comes close to the horizon, AccuWeather points out. We won't see it happen again until 2037. "Squeezing a second full moon into a calendar month doesn't change the physical properties of the moon itself, so the color remains the same".

Each month, we will explain the traditional names of the Full Moon along with some fascinating Moon facts.

The Blue Moon from March has something special: it can be considered "Paschal". The moon will be visible in United Kingdom at 7:30pm.
