According to various sources, the gestures feature for the iPhone is described as a hover-like gesture system "by moving their finger close to the screen without actually tapping it".
Bloomberg reported Wednesday on the new tech, but said both features won't be coming to iPhones for at least two years, and that's if Apple decides to move forward with either idea. Co-Founder Steve Jobs popularized the mouse in the early 1980s.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It would take into account the proximity of a finger to the panel and be built directly into the display.
More news: Zuckerberg slams Apple CEO Tim Cook's comments on Facebook as 'extremely glib'Bloomberg also notes Apple is working to curve the iPhone's display. The iPhone X's OLED screen curves slightly at the bottom, but the shape is mostly invisible to the human eye. The curved iPhone display has been a rumor for a while now as its been in development but, now it is expected to be around two or three years away from implementation. Still, other companies have implemented similar features in the past.
With the release of iOS 11.3, we saw a number of useful features added to Apple's mobile operating system. Samsung is already working on a foldable smartphone, while Huawei is seeing increased success in Asia. However, Apple's plans are significantly different concepts.
While we're still getting the hang of Apple's new gesture interface on the iPhone X, Apple is apparently working on an entirely new kind of phone with a touchless gesture-based input. Back when including everything but the kitchen sink in phones was a thing, Samsung allowed users to control their Galaxy S devices by doing things like waving their hand over the display to scroll.
