League Veteran Andre Ingram Drops 19 in NBA Debut

Andre Ingram Lakers

"MVP chants, that's just insane", Ingram told reporters. "Everyone was like, 'Man, when you get it, just let it go".

Ingram and his Lakers will wrap up the season this evening against the Clippers before officially beginning the offseason. His accuracy has been just as impressive volume, as his 46.1 career 3-point percentage is best all-time among players who have spent at least two full seasons in the G League. He sunk each of his three free throw attempts, four out of five three-point attempts and six out of eight field goal attempts, all at the ripe age of 32.

Paul said of Ingram's debut to ESPN after the game: "I told him I heard about his story, and that grind is unbelievable. MVP chants (while at the free-throw line) that's just insane", he said.

Rockets: Ryan Anderson missed his third straight game with a sprained left ankle. Ingram had flown his wife and two daughters in from Virginia to watch the culmination of their work.

"From the team warm-ups, the atmosphere was electric", he said.

With Los Angeles without the services of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Kyle Kuzma against Houston, the opportunity presented itself for Andre Ingram to get some playing time with the Lakers. In his 10 seasons, he has never shot below 40.3 percent in a season.

Andre Ingram is living proof that patience and persistence always win in the end.

The Lakers surprised the veteran point guard by moving up his "exit interview" from the G League's South Bay Lakers and having president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka on hand to congratulate him. Houston then took a potentially important hit when Mbah a Moute dislocated his shoulder for the second time this season while dunking in the second quarter. He is the active leader in games played and minutes played, while also ranking near the top in rebounds, points and steals.
