TI Arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness and Simple Assault

Rapper TI says guard was asleep on the job, sparking argument that got him arrested

ABC/Randy HolmesAfter a dispute with a security guard on Wednesday morning, Atlanta rapper T.I. was arrested by police in Henry County, Georgia. He was arrested around 4.30am after he got into an argument with a security guard, according to Henry County Police. And in 2010, he and his wife were both arrested following a traffic stop after which cops smelled "a strong odor" of marijuana coming from his vehicle. The guard feigned indifference.

Aside from being a rapper and actor, T.I.is also a activist involved in local and national social issues. The altercation seems to have escalated at this very point, as both T.I. and his friend were taken into custody shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, TMZ reports that law enforcement officials say that T.I. was eventually let into the community but came back to talk to the guard again.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., was booked on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. You can preview his cheeky mugshot here.

Mr Ireland said TI and a friend were arrested. "The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse". He says the rapper identified himself and sought entry, but the guard refused. Tip was in contact with Tiny' by phone and "Tiny" confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or supervisor called the police. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to AJC, the incident occurred after an argument with the gate guard, who refused to grant him access without his key.

Sadow claims police did not want to hear from T.I.'s side and arrested his client.
