Houston congresswoman reports Chris Paul will play in Game 7

Iguodala Day-to-Day Paul Game Time Decision for Game 7 Ian Smith

The Houston Rockets are out of the National Basketball Association playoffs after losing Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals to the Golden State Warriors 101-92.

Chris Paul is officially questionable for the Rockets' Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors on Monday, but Houston coach Mike D'Antoni expressed doubt about Paul's availability as the guard recovers from a right hamstring injury.

In Paul's absence Saturday night, the Rockets lost 115-86 at Oracle Arena, pushing the series back to Houston tied 3-3.

Paul, a 13-year veteran who advanced to the conference finals for the first time in his career, has averaged 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists during the postseason.

Golden State led by seven entering the fourth and pushed the lead to 10 on a 3-pointer by Thompson with about 9 1/2 minutes left. After struggling to run back on defense, Paul paced around before leaving the game.

The Rockets scored 39, 22, 16 and 9 points in each of the four quarters of game six.

Meanwhile, the Warriors came out cold on offense.

Thompson finished with 35 points, and Curry added 29, and they combined to shoot a red-hot 14-of-28 from three-point territory. The Warriors outscored the Rockets 33-15 in the third quarter and went on to win by the final score of 101-92.

Mindful of what happened right after that series - the Warriors would blow a 3-1 lead of their own to Cleveland - Curry said: "I think we both blocked that whole year out of our memory".

There is something appropriate about the Houston Rockets' championship aspirations hinging upon the availability of guard Chris Paul.

He's been the catalyst for the Rockets through the Western Conference finals.

Curry and Kevin Durant, meanwhile, played like the MVPs they've been, at least in the second half.

The teams first met in the NBA Finals in 2015 when the Warriors beat an injury-hit Cavs team in six games. If he comes up flat and the Warriors lose, the sensitive Durant might want to stay off social media. He hasn't yet tested the hamstring, according to D'Antoni.

The under is 4-0 in the last four Warriors games overall. But when you have a Warriors' team that dominates the third quarter plus a Houston Rockets that reacts in frustration and loses control to allow a butt-whooping, you get angry and mad. Head coach Steve Kerr wasn't particularly thrilled to talk about it. A fourth straight trip to The Finals would make Curry the LeBron of the West.
