Bourdain's death means loss of a voice for immigrant workers

2018 Women In The World Summit

We spoke to a few Indian chefs about the man who brought cultures together.

In Season 4 of Parts Unknown, Bourdain explored the depths of despair involved in the heroin epidemic ravaging small towns and suburbs across the USA, with more than a little hard truth and on-camera vulnerability about his own demons.

"His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much".

Bourdain's family is still waiting for the French government to allow the TV chef's body to be flown back to the USA for burial, after he hanged himself in his French hotel room Friday.

CNN, which aired the series, reported that the cause of his death was suicide.

Bourdain committed suicide while in France filming an episode of his Emmy-winning CNN food and travel program Parts Unknown, the network said Friday.

Bourdain filmed a segment of his show this week at the Michelin-starred Auberge d l'Ill in nearby Illhaeusern, where staff are reeling from his death.

"Some, of course, like to claim that Mexicans are stealing American jobs", Bourdain said in 2014. I don't know what happened, just saw the news. "He seemed to enjoy himself sitting on a low plastic stool eating noodles and pork bits with chopsticks".

Christian, when speaking with reporters from The Associated Press, said there is nothing about the crime scene that would make it appear as if someone had entered or left the room. After the news broke on Friday, some of Bourdain's friends and fellow faces of CNN talked about his life and death for an hour-long documentary.

"No one's more confused by the celebrity chef thing than chefs".

Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain was found dead in his hotel room on Friday.

'We thought it was unusual, ' waiter Maxime Voinson told The New York Times on Saturday.

His first book in 2000, "Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly" catapulted him to fame. He became executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles in 1998. The best-seller was hailed by critics for its witty, energetically written look behind-the-scenes of the restaurant industry.

His 1999 New Yorker article, "Don't Eat Before Reading This", brought readers into the NY kitchens where Bourdain worked for years.

Bourdain followed up his literary success into a gig with Food Network hosting "A Cook's Tour".

Rest in peace, Anthony Bourdain. Wang writes that he was still in college and didn't even know who Bourdain was at the time.

Mr Obama later posted a tribute to the chef on Twitter, sharing his own picture of the pair drinking beer during the meal in Hanoi. It was in Borneo that Bourdain was asked and complied with a request from villagers to plunge a spear into the heart of a pig!

Much closer to home - Bourdain lived in NY, when he wasn't traveling - was a late-night visit to Waffle House in Charleston, South Carolina, described in poetic terms by Bourdain as "an irony-free zone where everything is lovely and nothing hurts; where everybody regardless of race, creed, color or degree of inebriation is welcomed".
