Trump accuses Justin Trudeau of making 'false statements'

One 'rant,' rough talks sour G7 mood in confrontations with Trump

Launching another verbal blow at Trudeau, Trump said that, "Justin acts hurt when called out!" apparently referring to his pledge to impose the equivalent of the tariffs on the U.S. that Trump has slapped on Canada.

She said that the European countries will not be "taken advantage of" in terms of trade and that they would "act" against the US trade measures, which are considered as going against the World Trade Organization's rules.

"In a matter of seconds, you can destroy trust with 280 Twitter characters", German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said when asked about Trump's decision.

"I have made it very clear to the President that it is not something we relish doing, but it is something that we absolutely will do".

"I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!", Trump tweeted Saturday evening while en route to Singapore aboard Air Force One. "I don't understand the obsession with trade relations with Canada", he said on Fox's "Sunday Morning Futures", given that Canada is the biggest single buyer of American goods and services in the world. We spent two days obtaining a draft and commitments. "Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!" he said.

His most recent tweets are part of an ongoing argument Trump has made that Canada and other countries have been taking advantage of the U.S. In fact, contrary to his tweet, the U.S. ran a trade deficit in 2017 of $568.4 billion, according to the Census Bureau and Bureau of Economic Analysis.

President Donald Trump on Saturday accused Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of making "false statements" and said that the USA will not endorse a G7 communique. He said Canada has to stand up for itself.

With U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the centre of the dispute, the back and forth has intensified since just before the start of the month - when the Americans imposed hefty steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada.

"We will not.sign a trade deal that expires every 5 years - that is not a trade deal", Trudeau said.

"They should have said to him, 'God speed, you are negotiating with the insane nuclear tyrant in North Korea, and we are behind you, '" Kudlow added.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro also ripped into Trudeau on Sunday, saying there's a "special place in hell" for a world leader that double crosses Trump.

In his earlier interview, Kudlow said he personally negotiated with Trudeau during the two-day G7 summit in Quebec and insisted the US agreed to the language in the communique in good faith.

European Council President Donald Tusk, left, Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May, German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, President Donald J. Trump and Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau prepare for the Family Portrait at the G7 summit, Friday.

Earlier, the White House escalated the initial tirade and levelled more criticism against Mr Trudeau, branding him a back-stabber unworthy of Trump's time.

A U.S. official said on Monday that Trump and Kim will first meet one on one with translators in a session that could last up to two hours before they open the meeting to their respective advisers.

There had been widespread speculation that the G-7 nations would not issue a joint communique that included the United States due to deep differences between Trump administration and close American allies on trade.

Trump described Justin Trudeau conduct in Saturday's meeting as "meek and mild" behind closed doors.

"We strive to reduce tariff barriers, non-tariff barriers and subsidies", it said.
