Heat Advisory Excessive Heat Watch and Warnings

Temperatures are forecast in the mid to upper 90s through Wednesday, with heat index values in the mid to upper 90s.

A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect starting 8AM Sunday through 8PM Monday.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for all of Mid-Michigan through Sunday afternoon.

Mainly clear, very warm and muggy. Winds will be light.

The weather service said conditions will vary locally, with urban areas often seeing heat index values higher than nearby rural areas. He said a cold front will begin to move into ME on Friday, with temperatures expected to drop into the 70s by Saturday. The best day of the week, right now, looks to be next Saturday when temperatures drop a few degrees and humidity lowers a bit.

Temperatures were in the 90s from Chicago to New York City on Saturday, including a high of 96 degrees in Newark, New Jersey, 95 degrees in Philadelphia and 93 degrees in Central Park. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. At night, partly cloudy with a low around 80 and a 20 percent chance of rain.
