Joe Russo and Josh Brolin troll Thanos fan subreddit

Avengers Infinity War time travel proved by this new image

The subreddit, which now has 498 THOUSAND subscribers and increasing on a daily basis, is planning to ban half its population in honour of the Mad Titan, Thanos. His motivation? To halve the serious strain overpopulation is exacting on the fictional universe, and bring balance to all things - as things should be.

The Thanos Did Nothing Wrong subreddit, a collection of redditors who post memes devoted to the Infinity War villain, grew so quickly that the moderators and members felt it was time to balance out the universe by banning half of its subscribers.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo offered a tease of what is to come by posting a message from Josh Brolin performing the "Thanos snap" with "Reddit, Thanos has a message for you". As we reported earlier in the week, fans of the Mad Titan over at r/thanosdidnothingwrong were preparing to see half of their numbers banned, removed, and wiped out from their community.

As SyFy Wire points out, you can technically still join the subreddit and get randomly taken out tomorrow.

If you recall the end of Infinity War, Thanos found all of the stones for the Infinity Gauntlet. Later in the week, Thanos actor himself, Josh Brolin, uploaded a video to the subreddit of him simply stating, "Here we go, Reddit users" and then snapping. The Russo brothers themselves tweeted, too, that they "have both submitted to the culling".

I can't tell if it's the ominous "Here we go, Reddit users" or Brolin's freaky decision to shoot this shirtless and in bed. either way, I've got chills.

"You built up the hype for the last 9 days and now you have been teasing the ban ALL DAY and people are starting to lose interest and you say you didn't know it would be a huge deal?" said one user.

The campaign to ban half of all members at the same time started with a moderator called the-Jedi-Apprentice.
