‘Globalist Koch brothers’ have become a ‘total joke in real Republican circles'

Koch network makes an example of GOP candidate in key Senate race by pulling support

Charles and David Koch have been a force in American politics for decades, channelling billions of dollars into conservative causes. Their network is highly overrated, I have beaten them at every turn.

The Koch network is "raising the bar and raising expectations" of GOP lawmakers, and said Monday it will freeze its support of anyone who breaks with its views because some Republicans are taking its support for granted, The Hill reports.

Interested in Donald Trump?

The president also echoed an attack line he employed during the 2016 campaign, when he relentlessly criticized his GOP opponents as "puppets" for currying favor with the Koch political network. In order to keep everyone in line, they've decided to make some mostly symbolic gestures toward supporting a Democrat here or there, like taking out a web ad thanking Democratic senator Heidi Heitkamp for voting for a bill to deregulate banks. "And here's the program: Ground game to support Trump's presidency and program, [and] victory on November 6".

Trump, perhaps indirectly, alluded to the reasons why some Republicans voted for him two years ago and continue to support him while questioning some of his tactics and rhetoric. Heidi Heitkamp's support for rolling back bank regulations. The Koch network campaigned heavily for passage of tax cuts that Trump signed into law past year and praised his judicial picks.

Other Republicans said they were optimistic that the warring wings of the party could reconcile before the elections, in which the GOP is trying to stave off a possible Democratic wave.

Mr Trump has played a role in several Republican primaries, helping candidates in Georgia, Alabama and SC in recent weeks with endorsements that underline his influence within the party.

His tweets come after a spokesman for the brothers' network accused the White House of stoking divisiveness.

The Koch Network did not endorse Trump's 2016 run.

Trump also boasted that 'I made them richer, ' painting them as ingrates.

But the president and most of his loyalists never warmed to the Kochs, even as their interests at times have aligned.

Against an overall trend of rising employment, some sectors of the economy have felt the heat of Trump's trade war already.

But in a rare interview with reporters on the sidelines of donor conference Monday, Charles discussed his dismay over the Trump administration's moves on trade, spending and immigration, including Trump's use of protectionist economic policies, including tariffs. "I'm into hating the sin, not the sinner".

I'm sure that Charles Koch regards Trump as a vulgar halfwit, no matter how much money the president is shoveling into Koch's pocket.
